Melisa Kennedy
SPPA Studio Owner & Executive Director

Kelly Croteau
Kelly is excited to have been with us for years. She is a former Radio City Music Hall Rockette, Disney World Performer, and Sea World Dancer. In addition to performing, Kelly was an assistant choreographer for Jim Hensons "Animal Jam" on TLC. She has also worked with famous dancers such as Debbie Allen and Rhee Gold.
Show Piano™ is the brainchild of veteran piano teacher, Melisa Humphrey-Kennedy. She has turned her trademark performance style into performing arts studios and a competition series.
Now with the launch of her fourth year of Show Piano™, Melisa is bringing her years of experience to the piano and performing arts world yet again at a new studio location in Lakeland, Florida.
Not only is Melisa known for her incredible creativity, discipline and passion, she is one of the most sought-after piano teachers in the state of Florida. Her goal is to help students learn music and dance in addition to offering SPPA Dance Company and Show Piano™ Competition Teams.
She has created and assembled an amazing team of master performing arts teachers for SPPA where students get lessons in piano, dance, voice, drama, and much more.

Kayla Tavares
Kayla is the lead choreographer at SPPA. She teaches all Dance Company classes as well as advanced levels and cheer.
Kayla has a successful dance and cheer resume beginning with receiving First Place and a National title at Onstage New York Dance Competition. She was chosen as one of the few dancers across the United states to perform her solo “La Esmeralda” variation for the National High Dance Festival in Miami her senior year. There she received eight acceptances with scholarships to many different Universities in the United States and England. She also received a scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet. After graduation
Kayla began school at the University of South Florida and is currently a sophomore
working towards her Bachelors of Science in Business and a minor in dance with a
scholarship.

Sally Perez
Sally started dancing at the age of 3 in Apopka, Fl. Over her many years of dance she has trained in various styles including jazz, ballet, and hip-hop to name a few. Sally graduated from the University of South Florida in 2006 with a degree in Education. Shortly after graduating she was hired to teach dance at Berkley Charter Elementary School in Auburndale, Fl.
Sally obtained her Zumba Fitness Certification in 2008 in order to share her love of fitness and dance with adults. Sally welcomes all of you to SPPA and hopes to see you in class soon!

Randy has a BS in Music Education from University of South Florida where he majored in trombone. He is proficient in all brass, woodwind, string and percussion instruments.
Teaching in Hillsborough County Public Schools for 3 years, Randy loves teaching children music and enjoys teaching classes at SPPA!

Mrs. Sandy Cain holds a B.A. Degree in Theatre Arts and Radio, Television and Film from the University of Maryland where she attended on a Talent Scholarship.
She has over 30 years experience in theatre, television and radio having produced, directed, choreographed, technical directed, stage managed and worked in the areas of casting and costuming. She has over 15 years of theatrical teaching experience from both the Maryland Board of Education and the Florida Board of Education. She is currently teaching at Davenport School of the Arts in Polk County and Acting / Modeling classes at SPPA!
