My New Favorite Place – Buffalo Café in Plains, GA

On a cool and windy afternoon not so long ago, my best friend and I found ourselves a cozy and soothing café to stop and eat while in town purchasing my historical fixer upper home (which I later named Plains Cottage).

The windows of this historical Plains Bank turned café are so pretty and inviting. The exposed brick, wooden floors, and history on the walls make this a must-see stop on your next visit to Plains, Georgia.

The history here along with a freshly made menu – many of which were made by the Carter family or recipes from the region, were enough to make us want to take up a seat and never leave.

Since then, I stop by here for lunch about every day. They have the BEST soups you have ever eaten as well as their desserts (particularly the locally made peanut butter pie).

I've included a photo of the Buffalo Café menu below, but just know they do change and sell out of a lot of items.

On Saturdays they have a limited menu because that's when the train comes in with loads of visitors coming to Plains, GA.

The original old Plains Bank ceilings are gorgeous here too. Such a pretty place to stop and grab a quick lunch!

As you can see on the chalkboard, they were out of some menu items. The chicken 'n dumplings soup is usually the first to go!
