An Update | From the Cottage
Updated: Feb 10, 2021
It seems like there's so many projects to do to restore this historic charmer, but in the end I know it will be worth it. White chippy paint homes have always been my favorite (and my farmhouse cottage is just that!) because they usually have loads of character – which basically translates to more work, lol.
If you didn't read my original post about purchasing my sweet 1906 home, then go here first.
Although there is so much restoration work left to do at the cottage, sometimes I just need to focus on a fun and lighthearted project -- like making a wreath for the front door.
This was such a fun craft project for me. Even in the craziness of restoring a historical home, there’s fun and new non-construction things to do each day- Isn’t it funny how life works?
This little wreath only took me about 10 minutes to make. What a sweet and unexpected craft for my cottage front door, and the materials came from Michael's and only cost $12!
Next I am going to make a floral swag to go up the porch swing chains. I think it will add a touch of whimsy and romance to the porch. (Please don't look at the ceilings that desperately need a deep cleaning and paint job!!).
I’m finding that whether you live in a farmhouse cottage or in an RV full time, there are little moments to be enjoyed in the most unexpected of places. Don’t let them pass you by.
Do something you love today!
Hugs,
Melisa
